Abilities: Emma is a mutant who possess various telepathic abilities. She can read the thoughts of others, as well as project her thoughts into the minds of others. She can project psionic bolts into the minds of others, which cause no physical effects, but it will affect the person's mind and cause them pain. She can also induce mental pain in an opponent merely by touching their brow, but she only uses this power when it is absolutely needed. If someone is unconscious she can user her powers to sedate them for as long as needed. This comes in handy if someone is injured or if her team is forced to take a prisoner. She is also advanced enough in her telepathy that she can use cerebro if she is needed. It does drain her just like it would any other telepath, but her mind is strong enough to use it for several hours if it is necessary.
She does have another mutant power which allows her to cover her entire body in diamond form. When she is in this form she is nigh indestructible, but she can be shattered by a diamond weapon. Plus her telepathic abilities can not be used while in this form, so she only uses it in emergency cases.
Skills: Emma is highly intelligent, especially when it comes to technology. She has built several weapons and other devices in her lifetime; she has developed devices that will enhance her own powers. She also has excellent leadership skills; people will follow her just about anywhere. Even without her gifts she has this unique way of charming people into helping her. She is pretty decent when it comes to hand to hand combat, but she has always believed that it is beneath her; so, it is another one of those things that she only uses when she absolutely has to.
Weaknesses: Emma does have several weakness, just like anyone else. For example she can't use her telepathy in her diamond form. Her temper is a weakness that has nothing to do with her power; it can get her into trouble sometimes. She will make the wrong decisions in the heat of the moment. She also has a pride issue; she will avoid accepting help from people at all costs. She would much rather take care of herself, which can sometimes make her seem isolated and it causes her to have a hard time making honest friends. Of course her powers don't help her out with her trust issues; she gets to hear when someone is considering screwing her over so she has a tendency to avoid making deals or relationships with people. She has believes that all people have evil thoughts in them somewhere; it just a matter of what can bring them out. The few people she does trust know that she also has a insecurity issue with her age already; so much so, that she has had several plastic surgeries to improve her looks already.
Personality: Emma can appear to be quite cold and distant, but she does know how to be kind when she chooses to. She does not trust easily, but that is only because she has been hurt so many times before. To most people who don't know her she is nothing more than a cold, calculating diva who refuses to listen to others, but that is only the mask she uses to hide her true self. She does have emotion; she just chooses to hide it from the people she does not know if she can trust.
She is actually a very kind and loving person, especially to her students. She is fiercely protective of her students; she truly does feel that they are all she has left. She would do anything for them; she has been known to be hard on them, but that is only because she knows that what they will have to face out in the world will be so much harder. She has had to over come a lot in her life, and she wants her students to be just as strong as she is.
When it comes to men she can be very flirty and pushy; she has never found someone she truly loves enough to be serious about. She uses the men around her and then pushes them out of her life when she is done with them. She believes that she is much better off on her own; she doesn't have many female friends either, but the few she does have know her well enough to know that you just have to break through the walls.
She is very bold and abrasive, and that can sometimes push people away; but she is working on reigning it in. She doesn't want to go too far one way or the other; she wants to be bold enough to stand up for herself, but still remember the feelings of the people around her.
History: Emma Frost was born into old money, but what is most surprising about her is that most of her own fortune came from her own hard work. She was the second of three daughters, but the third of four children. She had one older brother, one older sister and one younger sister. When it came time for her father to choose an heir for the family business, her older brother Christian was passed over because of his history with drugs and the fact that he was gay. Their father actually chose Emma over her older sister, but Emma refused; she wanted to prove to her family and herself that she could make her own way in the world. All three sisters were telepaths who developed their powers upon reaching puberty, but Emma seemed to be the most gifted of the three. Of course Emma still inherited a good deal of wealth from her family, but it was a small amount compared to the fortune she was determined to amass on her own. She rose rapidly through the ranks of corporate America, due to her high level of intelligence, drive and personal charm. Of course the use of her powers was also very beneficial to her career and her own personal life.
Eventually she became a majority stockholder of a multi-million dollar company. Despite her youth she was named Chairman of the Board and CEO of the rechristened Frost International. Now, she was on the fast track to achieving the success that she had always dreamed of. She also became headmistress of the Massachusetts Academy - a college preparatory school. Emma's success immediately caught the attention of the Hellfire Club, which is an elite club made up of some of the world's most powerful and influential individuals. When she found out that the club was hiring new dancers, she went to one of the auditions and used her telepathic abilities to enhance her performance in their eyes. One of the reasons she was well respected by the male members, is because unlike the other females in the club she never complained about the strict dress code imposed on the women of the Hellfire Club requiring them to wear lingerie at all times. She always felt that the revealing clothes gave her an advantage over the men around her.
After some wheeling and dealing on her part, she manged to help Sebastian Shaw take over the Club. They renamed it the Inner Circle and she became the White Queen while he became the new Black King. While working within the Hellfire Club she turned her school into a place for young mutants to learn how to control their powers, so that they could be recruited into the Hellfire Club. While working with the Hellfire Club, and their own team the Hellions Emma crossed paths with the X-Men several times. They started out as enemies for the most part, but then something changed for them. The Hellions wound up needing help from the X-Men to defend Emma from one of her greatest enemies. The whole situation ended up with Emma in a coma, and it took some time for her to recover. Once she had recovered Emma started her own school and team for mutants with Sean Cassidy. She named her team Generation X and they began taking on jobs in secret. About two years ago Cassidy has vanished and Emma is running the school on her own with the help of Cassidy's newly returned daughter.
